Older and Better with Shelly

  We may be the only country in the world with its entire leadership under quarantine. We haven’t been number one in the world in anything. But we are now. Laughingstock of the world. So now let’s get down to business. The White House has to be shut down and fumigated. Do they do it from top to bottom? What about the bunker ? Do they give the project to a Republican   company or one owned by Democrats? I wonder if they can find a coupon with a discount. Will everything now have to be dry cleaned and shampooed? What about the kitchen and all the food in the freezer? All because a certain number of people that live and/or work there would not follow CDC proto calls or wear a mask. The president should have to pay for his White House to be fumigated.  I think they need to have a Covid hospital just for the White House infected people. Is Rikers Island available? Send them there.

With the passing of George H. W. Bush, fondly called 41, certain things come to mind. Back when 41 was president, the world was gentler, more peaceful, and more considerate. Today some of the things that go on are downright shocking. I’m trying to figure out, as a senior citizen myself, when exactly our country became so embroiled in the battle within the homeland. Certainly we’ve always had political parties but they managed to work within their boundaries to get work done. I’m not sure when a re-election campaign became more important than getting along and doing things for the people. Now days it seems like whatever party dominates Congress they are the ones that will keep anything from getting done. It’s about arguing back-and-forth and satisfying the contributors to your reelection campaign, not to mention favors to grant that we don’t even know about. Payback if you will.
